What it is
Blepharoplasty is eyelid surgery. Depending on the assessment, it may involve skin, muscle and the fat pads around the eyes, in the upper eyelids, lower eyelids or both.
In some cases, excess skin on the upper eyelid is related to the position of the eyebrows. That is why the assessment considers the forehead and the eyes together.

Who it is for
The indication is always individual and defined at the consultation. In general, blepharoplasty is discussed in the following situations:
- Excess skin on the upper eyelids
- Fat pads on the lower eyelids
- Changes in the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek
- Planning together with a brow lift or facelift, when indicated
Health history, physical examination and expectations are assessed at an in-person consultation. Surgery may not be indicated in every case.
